One of my favorite parts of living and working here in McDonough and across Henry County is discovering the places that make this community feel like home. Over the past few weeks, I’ve had the chance to visit a handful of local restaurants—some new, some familiar—and each one reminded me just how special our local dining scene really is.

If you’ve been following along with my Foodie Girl Finds, here’s a little round up of where I’ve been lately (and a few places you might want to add to your list).

🍝 Pasta Max Cafe

There’s something about a place that just feels comfortable the moment you walk in, and this is one of those spots. It’s cozy, welcoming, and the kind of place where you settle in and enjoy a relaxed meal. The pasta dishes absolutely delivered, and it’s easy to see why so many locals keep this one in their regular rotation. My smile is a little off in this photo because I'd just taken a bite of the incredible buttered garlic roll just before the waiter offered to take our picture.

🦞 The Bridge Grill and Oyster Bar

We came expecting seafood—and got so much more. Even without trying the oysters (next time!), everything we ordered was delicious. What stood out most, though, was the atmosphere. Between the growing crowd, the regulars at the bar, and the warm welcome from the staff, it felt like stepping into a place where everyone belongs. By the time we left, they were calling us by name… and I couldn’t help but think of a real-life version of Cheers.

🍤 Bay Breeze Seafood Restaurant

This has become our go-to when we have guests in town—and for good reason. It’s worth the short drive from McDonough every single time. Whether it’s a casual night out or hosting friends, the consistency and comfort of this place make it an easy “yes.”

☕ Cafe del Cielo

Lunch here felt like slowing down in the best way. The atmosphere, the conversation, and even learning about their Dutch baby pancakes (which I’m already planning to go back for!) made this one memorable. It’s one of those places that quietly becomes a favorite before you even realize it.

🫖 Magnolia Tea Room

This one is a little different from the others—and that’s exactly what makes it special. It’s the kind of place where you can step out of the busy pace of everyday life and enjoy something a little more intentional. Whether it’s tea, conversation, or simply the experience itself, it adds a unique charm to our local dining options.

🌿 Why This Matters More Than You Think

These aren’t just places to eat. They’re where:

• friendships are celebrated
• clients become friends
• conversations turn into connections

It’s one of the many reasons I love being part of this community.
